Replacing an Electric Valve

The switches on your left hand dash panel control a bank of electric solenoid valves (next photo) that eventually control your Norgren valves, which supply air to the air bags.

The manifold and about 5 Norgren valves are located in the steering bay beneath the driver and are easily accessed.

Lights out in these switches? Check Here.

Level Low Manifold

These electric valves release air from the manifold and send it to a particular Norgren valve. The air released by these electic valves moves the spool valve in the actuator which then either adds or dumps air from the bags.

Norgren Valve

This is a five way Norgren Valve. You gotta love these guys. The hose with the yellow tag has come directly from the Level Low Manifold and controls the spool valve in the actuator. See arrows for actuator and spool valve location.

Norgren is wet because I just finished blasting it with soapy water in the hunt for leaks.

Spool Valve

These spools can fail and are easily rebuilt with a kit. The kits come with the spool pre lubricated.
